Only last month the Independent Working Class Association said Islington Labour was playing games with local residents over post office closures.
We called MP Emily Thornberrys' so-called campaign to save Essex Rd post office "the worst type of cynical posturing - treating residents as though we're idiots", and predicted that even if Essex Rd were saved others would close instead.
Sadly we've been proved right and now the Goswell Road branch is the latest Post Office to come under threat from the government's closure programme, as they prepare the Royal Mail for eventual privatisation.
New Labour believes public services can and should be run in the interests of big business, whereas the IWCA believes public services should be run in the interests of the public. That's why we do not support any post office closures, not in Islington, nor anywhere else in the country.
Please support the campaign.
